I woke in Kentucky

We left the Neophyte homestead at 4 am yesterday, in torrential rain. At times we couldn't see the road. But we were determined to push a head of it.  Small asked why it seems to always be raining when we do things. I told him its because we refuse to do things the easy way. He nodded, and went back to sleep.

The rest of the trip was uneventful. I did get a phone call from the family staying at the homestead, Muriel calved that morning we left.

After 14 1/2 hours, I found Small Farm Girl.

And a new adventure awaits.

Life is truly an adventure!!
Right now I go through the days holding my breath as my middle son is doing a bicyle trip across Canada. He is doing it alone, with no electronic gadgets, although he did take the time to find a computer with internet to let me know his first four days have been great-and thanks for the map,Mom :-)
Wishing you all the best.

So happy you've made it! And just a teeny-tiny jealous that you're neighbors with a blogging buddy.

I'm happy the family has arrived in Kentucky and everything went well with your long drive. Now it's time for new beginnings in a new place. Are the boys excited?
We're you able to get your animals there?

Congratulations! Just curious--where is the road cut into rock? It sure looks like lots of Alabama where I live.
