When Last Meets First; Harvest Overlap

This time of year is when the Neophyte Homestead experiences a harvest overlap. When last year's pork meets this year's cabbage. When last year's potatoes meets this year's salad. Home grown and homemade, can't beat this time of year. It's the only time some of these veggies will mix.

That's a good time of the year as far as the taste buds are concerned!

Both of those combinations sound real good to me!

That plate of food looks amazing! How did you put up your pork? can or freeze? dry? wish my garden would start growing and producing.

Nice job! Looks good too.

Call it superstitious, but I don't wanna eat my last batch of frozen okra from last year until I have some from this...

Gotta agree on not beating the taste-- and nutritional value-- of homegrown. We've had lettuce, peas, green beans, onions... soon the tomatoes.

Thanks for your blog, Lady Phelan!

TM, we mostly froze last years pork. Next round should be different as we have a few projects in the works to help with meat storage.

I can't wait until we reach that point, it seems slow going at times. Look forward to reading about your meat storage projects.
