STOP!!!!

What overwhelming generosity.

But you can stop now.

You have met the goal. As I type this, you have stepped over the amount.

$1627!!!!

I am incredibly speechless, and most of you know that is rare for me. I always have something to say about everything. (hey, I see that eye rolling going on)

I am removing the donate button. Heads up to those of you that read via a feed, lj user especially, it might spit that post back out at you. I apologize if that does indeed happen.

All of you, all the commenter's and donors. You have restored so much faith in everyone that has stopped by. You might not know what you have done, but I for one will never, NEVER, forget it.

Lovemongering, wild at heart, I love that term!

Darn. I was planning on donating after 8 AM Pacific time, when my paycheck direct deposits. I am glad you received enough!

Yaayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

And I was going to kick in this morning, saw that it would put you right at your goal (as of the last posting).

Now are you sure you want us to stop? Will you be OK for next month? Could you use it to replace some of the stock that you lost a few months back?

Monica said...

Hm. Given that my own bank account is at -$253 I could not contribute anyway :)

Hey, it is time to put up your old picture of you sitting on the sheep and take down the dustbowl thing. :)

Phelan said...

Marina, you know I love you? Give me a moment, I have been crying, need to suck it up, people have been saying some silly things about me :D We are ok. Depending on how/if/and/or the bank is willing to work with us, or if we have to go ahead and use the moeny, we should still be ok. Once this is taken care of, we are going to have a sit down with someone that can help us figure out how to keep things paid for even though we don't bring in all that we owe every month. But it is all good. I the spring, work should increase and we will be able to double house payments and save. With a full riding season under our belts, things should improve. No way I can lose the homestead now, there is that mafia watching over me ;)

Livestock, not right now. Winter is a hard time to bring new things in. Thank you though. oh and I haven't been ignoring you, yahoo won't download on my pc. And it seems like I can only go to a very few sites without it freezing up.

Yay, Phelan! Congrats everyone!

Phelan, I love the term, too--more Lovemongering! I wonder what other wonderful things we could do if we banded together like this, again?

Hee-haw and Merry Christmas!

Phelan, if it helps you feel better about this whole outpouring, know this: Helping your and your family keep the farm helps US believe that the little bit we do DOES actually make a difference. And if this little group of us has the power to save your homestead (which we all secretly covet) from The System, then maybe the little things we're doing elsewhere in our lives are also making a difference. It's a really good feeling to be able to see the impact our efforts make. We do so much and see so little return...

So you see, we're actually quite selfish. :)

Mine went through, just in time I think. I'm sure you can put the extra to good use, perhaps make Christmas just a bit better for the boys.

Emily took the words right out of my mouth!

I am so happy we were able to help you hang on to your dream, but kinda bummed that I can't contribute more today :-) Instead I'll be making a donation to my local food bank.

WHEW! (I really didn't want to have to house your girls, LOL!!! just kidding! ;)

I am really happy everything worked out!

I 100% agree with what everyone else has said! What a wonderful example of the power of community. We get so few of these feel good moments in life. It's nice to be part of something meaningful.

I am in tears.

Thank everyone for helping Phelan, who I don't even know, but have been following this thread.

You have restored my faith. I cannot believe I am crying.

See Phelan? You are loved and deservedly so.

Hugs and happy holidays to everyone.

Phelan, I wanted to let you know (since I was one of the ones to persuade you to let us help) that I donated through pay pal to Kathy after she e-mailed me. I AM SO glad that you let us all pull through and help put. It is hard to accept help from others but at some point in ALL of our lives we need the support of loved ones. I wish you and you family the best this holiday season and glad to see you'll be keeping the farm. ~Kim

Somewhere is blog-land is my earlier comment... it's floating around and might eventually land here. I'm sure that one was much more succinct and to the point, but now I'll ramble on and say HURRAY for all of us... and do some Cabelas shopping for me! ;)

Sweet! I'm so glad to hear this. I wasn't able to do a lot, but a whole bunch of people kicking in a little obviously did the job.

I'm so glad we were able to make a difference.

I'm so glad you are staying put. I donated a bit, not that I'm wanting a back pat, I donated through someone called mtkatiecakes and wanted to double check that it was legit. You never know.

Watching this unfold over the last 48 hours has energized me. This spirit of community and heartfelt sharing is what the holidays are about, no matter which holiday you celebrate.

Praise GOD!!

If there's anyone out there that didn't believe in miracles and in the kindness of "strangers" and "paying it forward"...they certainly should now!

Are you sure that you'll be ok til after the first of the new year? I'm sure you both know to slap it all down on paper, just to see it all in black and white...but please consider leaving your button up til after the holidays, ok? It's not begging, it's not pity...everyone wants to help because we love you...no strings attached.

So happy for you, I was not able to help at that immediate time but thankful for the others who gladly gave from their heart.

Buffra said...

I'm so glad! When I saw how close you were, I was going to try to find some extra to contribute, somehow.

This is such a relief and such a great show of generosity -- good for us all to remember at this time.

((((((((hugs)))))))))

Children in the Corn sent me your way.
I was planning on sending some.
Let us know when you need the rest of us!

mtkatiecakes is the author of two frog home and creator of women not dabbling in normal. She is legit. She was the friend that went behind my back, (homesteading mafia godmother as well)and one of the main reasons I went ahead and placed a button on my blog. I found out about this secert fund raising by accident (and I have bikers on the way to her house). But that email that people got,a and I don't know who or how many, was legit. She moved all the money you sent her over to my paypal account.

Well, I hate that I came in on this too late to participate; I just read about it over on Robbyn's blog. Glad to hear things have worked out for you and your husband.

Oh wow!!! What an amazing group of friends you have gathered over here! I'm glad to see that so many people love you as we do.

I was waiting until Friday payday, but I see I'm not needed now. I'll watch more closely in case the need arises again.

I have been offline for a few days and just getting cought up. I didn't know that you were having problems. Im so glad that you reached your goal. Sometimes people do things that tear someone apart and now we can see what pulling together can do. It is so inspiring. We will keep you in our prayers. Kelly

I think you should keep up the button as a buffer for next month.

Phelan, I am so glad you made your goal. I have not been online a lot lately because we are in almost the same boat as you. Not going to make it this month. But my hubby and I talked and wanted to send you something. I am sorry I put it off but I am glad you were able to make the amount. You have helped me so much with advice and recipes in the short amount of time I have been "blogging". Thank you!!

Solorn said...

I'm so glad that you received all this help. The blog world is full of warm and generous people. I'm sorry I didn't find your blog in time to help you financially but I could send you a few craft materials to help you make presents. Many many virtual hugs.

Ant said...

why would you remove it? People want to pay you for what they read! LEAVE it!

I'm bossy. Listen to me!
