It's Only Tuesday.

Because of the abnormal amount of rain we are having so late into the summer, I have discovered that some of my carrots are rotting in the ground. I pulled 2 lbs of baby carrots yesterday. I am also experimenting with making my own feeder creep. You will have to stay tuned to see how that works out.

We moved the bannies into larger enclosure, one with trees and tall grass. While watching them fly up into the tree to roost we noticed a few huge bugs running around it. t first we thought it was spiders, but on loser inspection we discovered a colony of cockroaches. I am hoping that the chickens will handle this problem before they get into my house.

Rotting carrots? Wow, you MUST be getting a lot of rain for that to happen! No worries on the bugs, I'll bet the bannies have them gone in less than 2 days. I sure wish I could have guineas to eat the ticks at my place, but predators are just too numerous.

I take all the horn worms(and cut worms, and potato bugs and what ever else decides that my garden is golden corral) and feed them to the chickens. Lisa's right, the cockroaches should be gone soon.

Sounds like wood roaches, which don't usually invade houses, but are still just as nasty!

Send us some of that rain... we are dry, dry, dry out here!

EWWW! No wonder they flew to the tree -- I'd fly somewhere, too!
