I would LOVE to win that book! We've been discussing the possibility of keeping bees, mostly for the pollination services, but honey would definitely be a big bonus!

Thanks for offering the giveaways, they rock! (And so does your blog......a little bum-kissing won't hurt, hugh?) :)

Ooooh! With bees scheduled to arrive at the farm in a couple weeks, my hubby would LOVE that book. Count me in! :)

I started reading your blog because of the headline crazy sheep picture - I want to live in the country with chickens etc. someday. But It until it happens, I read about your life and it keeps me smiling and learning. Thank you! I'm not into beekeeping by the way so please use my entry for someone interested.

I've always been so fascinated by bee keeping--I hope to be able to do it some day! I've taken an amateur beekeeping class, but I think this book would be really helpful.

That sounds like an interesting book.

Started keeping bees last year. Lost them this winter because I didn't have the hive ventilated right. Getting my new bees in April. Started chickens this year. Three Rhode Island Reds and 3 Americaunas. So darn cute. Now I have to build my chicken tractor. How timely that you have a bee keeping book and a chicken book. Neat.

I'd love to win this book. I started beekeeping last year and there is just so much to learn! For such tiny creatures, bees are very complicated!

I would also like to win this book. In my case, I plan to give the book to a new beekeeper. Thanks so much for doing this!

Toss my name in the hat, too! Bee keeping is one skill we want to add when we move next year!

Oh no you are outing my lurky-ness! But I put that book on my list after reading your review and I would love to have a copy!

Oh, Oh, Pick me! We are hoping to add bees. I was originally planning to get them this spring but now it's put off for next year. I've still got a lot to learn before I venture into a new species. Hopefully after a year of college tuition for our daughter we can still afford them ;-)
I hope you aren't floating away with all the rain.

I love tea in my honey (Freudian slip, I'll keep it!) and I'm in the process of acquiring 20 acres. Enough said!

I'd love to win the book. Bees are the next addition to our homestead and it'd be nice to have a guide so we don't have to learn EVERYTHING the hard way....:)

LOVE the blog!

Like a bunch of others on this list, our bees come in a few weeks and we're working our way through Lanstroth's book, but I don't know if we're going to make it all the way through in time! A newer easier to read book would be awesome!

I'm knee deep in saw dust, building bee hives for my future queens, could this bee destiny?

keeping honey bees would be so exciting and yet a bit scary. i think it would take some time to get over the idea of getting stung

We are trying out nucs this year instead of packaged bees with hopes we get more than 1 hive to make it through the winter. Your blog is one of the first homesteading blogs I stumbled on at least 5 years ago and one of the few I that still interests me today. Keep the posts coming!

We've been seriously discussing getting bees, but we aren't sure how hard it is to keep them or how much work. I would love this book.

Yes! My fiance and I are soon to be in a new home and bees are the first order of business. This would be extremely helpful. I fear for his lack of knowledge before jumping in. :)

Neophyte? Me too!! Love the way you write, bold, to the point, honest. And that you're in to heavy metal is an added bonus; not that I am, I dont' care for it really, but that you aren't the classical homesteader prairie-skirt wearing gal adds charm. I am a super duper beginner, got my chicks (flock of 4) about a month ago, had my hive for about 3 months now and have been an avid - albeit beginner - gardner since I was 8 years old. Trying out the urban garden scene, and dream of having more acreage to grow, grow, grow!
