One forgets

I am very sore this morning. The first day-long outdoor work day I have had all winter. After so much time, one forgets about certain muscles.

Yesterday I built a pallet board garden, got 2 small kitchen garden plots worked. Planted a lot of seeds in the mini green houses and the box. Dragged re-purposed wood around, moved manure around. Got attacked by a rooster. Was stalked by turkeys and a kitten latched onto my leg.

I'm tired and still have to do it all again today.

The hills have eyes

I found this little guy out in the garden. I scooped him up and he lives in the cup now. Hopefully I got his entire dirt body.

I know it isn't nearly the same, but I walked the dogs yesterday for the first time since December and my legs aren't very happy with me. So I feel your pain. literally heehee

We are planting tomatoes this weekend. That's all we have room for.

I'm a little sore from fixing up the new pig pen area and all the bending over to string the electric fence to keep 'em off the panels. The gardening won't start much until all the rain drains off, which will be awhile. I recommend a hot bath to relieve some of the aches...

I can't wait to do any of the things you all are talking about! We're getting 6-10" more of snow today and tomorrow in NY. Looks like it's going to be a while more before we can do anything outside. Maybe I'll start some seeds indoors today.

I love the 'opening' season soreness. =) Hope you recover quickly.

What am I seeing in the cup?

It's such a good sore though! At least, it is for me. That first full day of good fresh air, where it is so nice to be outside but still cold enough to make you grateful for the fire going inside and the warm bread for dinner.
