Dog update

Give me a moment and I will compose myself.

They will be keeping him for 10 days. If I want him back, it will be $700.

He is 14 years old, his hips are starting to hurt. He has lost a lot of his teeth. We will let him go.

I saved him from being put down 8 years ago. I gave him 8 more years of life that he wouldn't have already had.

He's a good boy.

deleted. I was responding to a nasty email. But ya know, it doesn't really matter. You guys are great. Thank you for understanding

Oi! Don't bite hands before they have a chance to feel for you in a tough time. I worked in emergency vet medicine for the past ten years so I know exactly how you feel losing your canine friend. Sometimes it hurts more to lose a furry family member than a human one. That's how I felt. It's been 4 years since I lost my Bear dog and I still cry about him. I hope you find love and comfort in the furry and non-furry people around you. And I don't care if you don't want anything, I'm still going to give it.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog but it sounds like you gave him a great life and now is his time to rest.

I'm sorry, Phelan. It's hard to lose a friend, and I know you'll miss him very much. Thank you for giving him these last eight years, and your loving kindness.

And I'm going to give you my sympathy, whether you want it or not, because I've been there and I know it hurts.

My friend...so sorry to hear about the furry family friend!

I'd much rather be around my animal friends and roomies, than around some of the people I know!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. We lost our 15 year old dog 2 years ago, it's very hard to have to let go of someone you love.

The only decent thing I can think of is that you had the 14 years you had, and you had them with a good dog. Some people never have that.

Sending you a hug across the miles and a (pointless) wish for a less-than-gloomy Holiday Season.

Peace, my friend.

I'm so sorry. It seems like since it was obvious that he was trying to protect the puppy, they would have let him go back to you. I don't understand rules that aren't flexible with the circumstances. I would be furious in your place too, but would make the same decision. 14 is very old for a dog, and it sounds like you gave him a very good life.

I am simply amazed whenever I come to visit you. Everytime a little glimmer of hope [free hay? yay!]you are shuttled back 10 feet.

The state has a responsibility, unfortunately, but your neighbor sounds so nice to try and help [save Link] and to pay his own medical. I wish it hadn't have happened.

It is a good thing you are so responsible and hardworking because if you were to be at fault for something by not being such a good person I can't even imagine the burden you would have to carry along with all the things that have happened to you [that you had nothing to do with/not your fault] in the past 13 months I have been reading you. Y'know?

I wish you a better new year - take care.

Oh Phelan, I am so sorry. I understand and you have my sympathies. I've been there. You gave him 8 more years of a good life so be encouraged by that.
