Lots to thinks about

I have a few thing running through my head right now. So I am not sure what to write about this morning.

It is officially our last freeze date. I woke up to the temperature outside being 33F. One degree above freezing.

Guinea chicks are quiet compared to the adults.

A B.A.C.A. member was hit by lightning while riding the other day, and dies.

It's riding season, please watch for bikes.

I sloshed around in very cold water doing chores yesterday. My bones still ache.

I think that the swine flu is being blown out of proportion. How come every time a flu is "named" after an animal, we become chicken little? Other flu infect and kill many more people every year then the avian or the swine, yet we are all now going to die from the swine flu.

How come we take offense to everything so easily anymore? Why is it that only white heterosexual males with no disabilities are the only ones that don't get a special interest group? (serious question). Why can't I say anything without it being akin to hate speech? While others can call me derogatory names and it is considered culture or editorial news? And I am suppose to suck it up and not file a law suit? (not like I would, I actually have thick skin, thought that was what we were suppose to do anyway) And why am I a racist if I don't agree with an opinion of some one that isn't white? Am I not allowed to have an opinion any more?

Do I really want to continue homesteading? Is this really worth all the pain?

What if I can't make it on the farmstead?

Why on earth does my husband love me?

Should I have pork chops or roast for dinner tonight?

I have so many seedling up. I am feeding them with fish emulsion mixed in their water. They seem to love it. I had to crack the door in the closest, as it was getting too hot in there for them. They seem to be flourishing now. Hopefully everyone will be ready to go outside in two weeks.

We are moving the garden because of all the flooding. I don't know what to expect this year. Last year it was too cool and wet to grow successfully. Well 350 pounds of produce wasn't all bad, but it wasn't enough. Hopefully this year will be better.

see what I mean, lots of thoughts. Just one of those nagging days that I will be doing chores on auto pilot, thinking and plotting Pinky!

Oh, I hate those days when I'm so distracted with what I need to get done that it's hard to get anything done.

I guess I know what we'll be doing tonight, Brain.

Pork Chops.

We had them on Sunday on the grill - just a little paprika and garlic - oh wow!

Last night we had pot roast with potatoes and carrots.

Pork chops - srsly. :)

[and I hate, hate, hate picking what is for dinner. I will write the list, shop, cook & clean up but do NOT make me decide what to eat...lol]

So yeah, pork chops. heehee

I vote roast... not because I'm afraid of eating pork right now (ha ha) but because I simply don't like 'em.

Personally I think swine flu is misnamed...cuz it's not just swine this time...it's a trio of 'em rolled into one, genetically speaking. But if they called it MexiFlu people would a) ask if you wanted hot sauce or b)get offended that you're picking on people from Mexico. Which SO wouldn't be true... it's just where it originated. But if it started in a llama from Cleveland I guess we wouldn't call call it OhioFlu. Hmmm.

See, I'm feeling random too. But I'm still voting for roast.

Well, it's the perfect weather for either the roast or the pork chops. Have fun either way. Oh, and I am sure your husband loves you because you are freaking awesome! Plus you have a big heart and are such a good mother. What, too mushy for you? He probably loves that about you too! Have a great day!

Overload. Way too many questions for this boy upon just opening the peepers. I think I need a nap now. Hope you get it all sorted, and have a great day.

I also vote for pork chops - sounds so good! Like you, I was so distracted last night that sleep evaded me.
Like the chicken little/swine pun. =)

Jeez, it really does make you go Huh! sometimes doesn't it. I've come to realize that the world doesn't make sense, it doesn't have to. I just have to make sense - to me. Another thing is that how I feel now is not going to last for the rest of my life. I vote Potroast.

But I'm eating shreddies..

Why don't we get cat and dog flu?

Are backyard chickens really a threat?

Is it racist if it describes the way something actually is?

Why are so many people scared of nature? Or of people who are different?

Argh - I think your questions are contagious... :-)

Pinky....are you thinking what I'm thinking? " I think so brain, but me and pippi longstocking? What would the children look like?"

Your brain sounds FULL. Hope it empties out real soon. ;)

We had snow this morning. Yuck. No 'last freeze' until first week of June and that's still only 70% likely the last freeze. I'm envious.

My goodness, what a busy mind. But remember, the answer to 'life, the universe and everything' is 42.

You hit the nail on the head with a few of those questions. I got some plants in before the thunderstorms broke loose now it will take another 2 weeks to dry out before I can put the rest in. Take care hun.

Pork chops, sweetie. Slow cooked with jam and fruit on top.

Husband has been asking the white male question longer than we've been alive. It's apparently better now than 25 years ago.

Flu.... wish they'd do some study to see what the actual mortality rate is... bet it's not half what they think.

I'd say that most--if not all--of those questions roll around in my head from time to time.

The Swine Flu is on everyone's mind. A lot of people I know IRL are panicking, but everyone on the blogs I read think it's a lot less than they say.
