Updating

Since the emails have started to come in, I thought I had better check in. Unfortunately I was having some problems accessing blogger, hopefully posting with an app works.

Not too much to report on the homesteading front. I think most of the chicks were eaten. I have dogs misbehaving because no one has been working with them. I don't think I had a chance to tell you that I sold Winnie, Yippie Skippy, Yaya and yogi to a man just starting his long legged Kerry herd the day before the wreck.

Speaking of which, I am on the mend, have sobered up, pain is less, and I can still move my pinky toe independently from the rest. And that my friends, is all that truly matters. (Pinky toe works)

Shortly after my last update I sunk into a rather nasty depression. I wasn't sleeping well because of my lack of narcotics. I was unable to do much for myself. And I had to attend the memorial service of Husband's best friend's brother, whom was also a good friend and client. Honestly just haven't wanted to be around.

But I have missed you all.

Reading my posts now that I am sober, it's a wonder you understood what was going on.

Phelan,

OMG.... I recently added you to my blogger reading list and learned of your wreck. I'm so happy to hear your recovering. It's extremely hard to sleep when you come off of medication that was previously provided for pain or sleep. I will pray for a speedy recovery for you and hubby.

Thanks so much for the updates! I know that you are going through some difficult times right now, but I'm sure you have the support to make it through OK.

Hang in there and I'll keep some good thoughts coming your way!

I've been thinking of you. I'm sorry you've been in a depression, but with all you've gone through, it's no wonder. Praying for your continuing recovery!

You have done great. I can't really tell whether you are sober or not, so don't worry about it. (No, that is not an insult.)

Phelan -
Nice to hear from you again - I've been checking, trying to keep up with your progress, and apparently you're making some. Good job! Keep the faith, and know you have a large outside family pulling and praying for you.

Hi Girlie!

Wow. Sounds like you've been handed the same maze that was thrown at me back in '07, Phelan. Once your system clears itself of the meds, all the reality begins sinking in and it usually does bring on the depression. I am so sorry life is trying to make you play 52-card pickup with a deck made out of shards. It sucks. And things are never gonna be the same. But being different can mean a chance for something fresh and new, as well. Hang in there and get well soon, so you can get busy with pissing off the spirit that tried to take ya' down! I promise you - if you're determined to get back up, the depression does go away. And you'll sleep again, too! Great to see ya' posting!!
