Worst Case Scenario

There are two things I really don't bring up, religion and politics. One of the reasons is you guys are a diverse bunch of readers, and I mean diverse. My blog is about homsteading, and my life in it, politics rarely emerges into it. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. There are so many rules and laws that invade my simple life that is is getting to a point where I can't ignore it all.

The state of the economy hit my family a year ago, and is intertwining more and more. The price of food stuff is getting ridiculous, and I am so happy we grow our own.

So why not watch a program that should manage to scare the begeebers out of me even more?

I like Glenn Beck. I think I have mentioned it before. I like the man. He can laugh at himself, he is thoughtful, he seems to understand or at least can comfortably speak with us mid-westerns. The libertarian commentator is doing something interesting tonight. I imagine most of you have heard about it, but if not, I will fill you in. He will be having a guest panel on tonight, men and woman that are considered to be the most brilliant minds in our time, and they are going to have war games with our future. Hash out the worst case scenario's of America's Future.

It should be interestning to say the least.

We Surround Them

Anyone else plan on watching it?

I didn't see the announcement of it on the website. Though I did get a huge kick out of the transcript of his humiliation of that ridiculous socialist caller!

I like Glenn Beck also. He makes me think and is pretty funny. I will have to record this show tonight. Thanks for sharing.

I loath Glenn Beck. I do watch him sometimes just to give him another chance, and I may tonite. But after seven years of my government scaring me about what others want to do to America when we should have been scared of what bankers, oil companies, and mortgage lenders here were doing to America I really don't feel like watching more Fox News "look at the shiny object" programs. They, and the rest of the MSM, sure were sleeping at the wheel.

Not having TV insulates me, in a way, from all the bruhaha. I would be interested in hearing him speak provided it is available online. =/ Back to the no TV thing. People will always tell you what they want you to believe, think, hear. Listening to what is not said can provide insight into what is really happening. =) I will keep checking to see if they have a feed that I can watch.
Ciao! =)

I think I'll try to watch. He's just as caught up in it all as the rest of the talking heads but all information is usable to one degree or another.
Are you aware of the Dept of Ag policy about tracking livestock? We been fighting this one for a couple of years now.

YeoldFurt, NAIS is BAD. I am very outspoken about it, so much so that I am being watched :)

We don't have cable anymore, (getting rid of the extras). Maybe he has shows on his website after they air like some others do. I will check that out.

I dislike Gelenn Beck intensely. He's the one that made that asinine "Mexahol" comment, suggesting we solve two problems at once by rounding up Mexicans and processing them into fuel. It wasn't funny.

Phelan said...

aimee, I must have missed that one. But everyone says things that can get them in trouble or be insesitive, not going to fault anyone for that. If I did I would be in a bunch of trouble by now.

Hey, thanks for the heads up...I'll be sure to watch, for sure.

true, phelan, me included. I may watch the program, because I'm curious to see what TV types consider the "worst case scenario."

Phelan said...

aimee, I think it will be interesting or I wouldn't have brought it up :D

He is having several people from different fields on. I am certain there will be some very outlandish comments, and suggestions.

ChicagoMike, I really don't feel like watching more Fox News "look at the shiny object" programs.

You're making my side hurt!

Oh, shoot. I don't have TV either. And most of the time I really love it! By the time I hear about a lot of the sensationalism, it's already been proven wrong. LOL

But sometimes I miss things that I'd find interesting. I'll have to check around later to see if it ends up on utoob or something.

I love Beck because he makes sense. Yes, he may say things that people don't like, but if comedians can toss around words and talk about things that are much worse than that in the name of Comedy, I don't see why he can't, as well.

My in-laws are terrified of him because he makes sense and they are afraid people will listen to, understand, and begin to believe like him. It was amusing when I first told them I listen to him.

Keep up the good work!

This is the kind of show more people need to watch.

Some of us plan ahead, but there is a .... say, 80% contingent that doesn't have a clue.

Aimee, you mean like the writer who proposed that Irish infants between the ages of there and here are tastiest.. and could help solve the potato famine...

Just wonder if some Tabasco would spice things up a bit...

I'd guess yes.

But not overdone...

Let me take a WILD stab at it...you're a Christian. Big shocker there.

I stopped watching these sort of things (and really, stopped watching the news all together) a few years ago. I was feeling like ttv news had become more about brainwashing and promoting an agenda than reporting. However, with your recommend, I'll check this Beck fellow out. Mostly, I'm just watching and waiting anyway - I figure the other guys had a shot for eight years, and it was a mess. Now someone else gets to try.
