The USDA has been managing to get federations and association to sign on with NAIS. I believe there are some kind of incentives for those people, {have to find that link} as well as threats of future penalties for non-compliance.
With the Milk Federation, that means that the milk you buy at the grocery will be from supports of NAIS. Those that do not support this, avoid buying from those that do.
The National Animal Identification System, is a GPS tracking system that will be placed into all animals that are in our food chain, including horses {because of horse meat export} all home owners that own 1 rabbit or 1 pet goat will have to register their apartment or house as a farm {unless that as changed recently, that I am not aware of} The costs to the farmer/homesteader will be beyond most of our means to survive. NAIS is bad for homesteaders.
But as always, I encourage others to do their own research and decide for themselves.

I am going to put that on my calendar.
Can you give a quick explanation of what this is? The link was just to the signing ceremony. What is big agribusiness up to now?

Thanks. I'll look into it.
Amazing. Score another one for big agribusiness against the small producer and family farmer.
