How do you remove the black skin spots from a pig you are butchering?

  1. Paint remover? No really: The color of a pig is only the top layer of skin...when you scald and scrape your hog that layer is removed along with the hair and spots...ta! da! Pink/white skin!

  2. i am running out the door to get to the dance - but i would say SOS pads...albeit admitting i have never owned a pig. nor tried to scrub the black spot off of one of them.

  4. I thought about that...but it's been so long since I've "done" my nails I knew it would be easier to find paint remover (use it on my bee hives)! Have fun at your dance!

  7. Seriously? I would think it would be the same flavor/taste whether the skin is pink/white or spotted. But I've never butchered a hog so I'll bow to someone with more knowledge than me (which is just about anyone...lol).
