This is what use to be the inside. What you see is the inside back wall. Somewhere close should be evidence of a house.
Husband has been cleaning up around the cabin.
A lot of the scraggly brush is now gone. There is a deer trail about ten feet up in the hill. Both Husband and Large have seen a very large buck in our driveway area, at different times. So far I have only seen a squirrel that seemed determine to stop my truck with his bullish "mine!" stance. And a rabbit, hilltop.
Butterflies are very thick here. It's beautiful, yet scares me a bit. Caterpillars might be a problem. However Medium loves it! He has brought in a caterpillar, that has now cocooned on a dead twig in my kitchen. And the largest crawfish we have seen yet in the creek.
The two older dogs, Buckets and Sprocket, are not as found of it here. Although Sprocket is coming around a bit more. But Buckets has arthritis in one hip, I think the dampness has made it ache more.
The puppies, Betty and Two are loving it. Below is Two.
I miss my cows, but good neighbor says all is well. And Husband should be retrieving them shortly.
Husband discovered beggarticks.
The house is not moving a long very quickly.
Still haven't seen the warranty that the previous owner promised to send two months ago. I contacted him last week and he claimed he would be mailing them out to us. It's going to cost us about $25 a sheet to replace the floor. This stresses me a bit. With trying to open a shop, and just starting a new life here, money is going to be very tight. But we will make it happen.
Now I am off to pester Small Farm Girl. Hope all is well with you.

You mentioned a squirrel with an attitude, he doesn't have buddy around, a moose, does he?
Meat is meat and all ... but I'd miss Bullwinkle & Rocky.
:)
Seems like to me money is always tight, no matter what stage of life you are at. You're making good progress though.
The old cellar is cool! No telling what else will turn up!
Looking good around there!
Progress is progress...you always leave me with a smile. Good luck, Pretty Lady.
Phelan,
To prevent any further delays on getting your floor replaced, can the old owner fax the paperwork to you through someone in town?
Interesting find on the old cellar.
Slowly things will come together, and before you know it your home will be exactly the way you want it.
Give the guys a hug, don't work to hard.
I hope he sends the paperwork; it's an uneasy feeling waiting on something you need and hoping that the person will actually send it, and having to keep "reminding" them.
I am loving these updates! So much to explore and find. The beggarticks are driving me crazy right now. Every day my dog comes in covered in them.
Those crawfish (we call them crayfish in NY) are huge! Nice and meaty. Lucky you!
You guys seem to be adjusting pretty well to your new life. I'm so happy for you and I hope all your future challenges are small.
