I am looking for your story

My previous post about loneliness seems to have struck a cord in the community. Many of you feel the same way, and many more seem to be searching for something to help.

Here's where you come in. I would love to hear your story, about the loneliness and what you have done to combat it or deal with it. I believe that this will not only help some, but bring us together more as a community.

I will keep your stories anonymous, or link out to your blog, your choice. You can email me here at my gmail Click Here To Write Me or, because it doesn't seem to work for all of you, here at my juno address. Click Here To Write Me

Thank you. And I look forward to hearing from you.

Nice idea. I hope a lot of people respond to this as maybe we all can learn from each other how to cope and thrive.

I hope so to Parker. It's difficult to open up like this. But we are a brave bunch.

West Tex, got you email, hold on. . Hugs. It's a great story, thank you!

As for the picture, that is my Grandmother. I unfortunately have little info on the photo, becuase of her age she looks on the photo, I would say she is married to my grandfather, and as they travelled often it would be hard to say where the photo was taken. If I was to guess, I would say it was taken in Panama. Some photos I have are better marked. I just really like this one.

Me too! What a beautiful woman. Easy to see where you get your class.

Lol! You should see the naughty picture I have of her. She is showing her legs in a bathing suit! A no no back then (she was visiting the US) I would say I am tenacious because of her. :D

You have not said a word to change my mind and I agree with you.

Lonely? God, yes, I am lonely.
I do not like it here. Been here five years now. My southern drawl sets me apart, my blue jeans, cowboy boots or tennies. I have not seen another old woman who dresses as I do. My hair is long, grey, wispy, never stays in place. Looks like it got in a fight with an egg beater ad lost.

My clothes are all old, I have three nice blouses. The rest are all at home, work in the yard type. Old, faded, mended.

I don't have anything new. Used to go to the thrift stores around here, can't now, fell and broke too many places, driving is painful.

Right in town, close to major medical, mall, shopping. I only go to hospital, dollar store.

Every one here has been in same friend circle since kindergarten.
They look right through newbies.

Went to local church, lady there told me I had to apply for membership, and if approved, then I could join their church, and I should wear a dress. Not been back there.

I miss the livestock, the easy acceptance of where I came here from.

I don't like snow, I have no one to talk to, no one to listen.
I talk to my cat, she listens, and purrs.
Woman next door turned me in to code compliance because my front
grass was half an inch too tall. She came over and measured it.

My country ways and my my homestead ideas just aren't popular around here. I wish I could move back to the country..

I am spendig this Christmas alone, no children, no friends, no no-one, just me and the cat.

Lonely, yes, no one to invite over for coffee or tea, no one to call and tell them about the birds at the feeder, or the doves, or squirrels, or chip monks.

Lonely, yes, disabled makes you not so sociable sometimes, people stopped calling, stopped coming by, did not understand when I just couldn't do something with them back home.

I hoped it would be different here. It's not.

Lonely? yes, I am just country, homesteader, animal lover, gardener, canner, prepper kinda, stuck here with no other like minded person.

not one person to talk to, or who understands. and I am so lonely.
So heart lonely.
