My Propane Delivery Driver Died

Now that might not be a big deal to most people. "oh that's sad" and then move on.

This is a big deal. The propane company I am with is a family business. Steve was the only driver. I got to know him. Standing outside talking in the snow. Him laughing about the cattle in my yard, I knew about his family he knew about mine.

He looked after me. Getting upset when I allowed my propane to dry out. He told me it didn't matter if I could pay for it at that time, that I was to always call him whenever it got low.

He was a friend.

I last talked to him right after he got out of the hospital, 2 months ago. He told me he wasn't doing well and that for now I needed to call another propane company. I did, but I only ordered the minimum from them, as I wanted to spend the large money with the local family business. I told him that I hoped he got to feeling better soon.

I got the letter about his death today. They wish to keep us as customers, and that they are trying to get things closer to normal. It is requested that I call them and inform them if I can make the summer with the propane we already have. I can not.

So, good bye Steve. You were a good man. I will keep using your family's company.

I talked with Skippy via phone for well over an hour, she is great! Thanks Skippy, you made me feel a whole lot better about a bunch of things.
