Lambing Season

Wonderful day today! Not only are we looking at almost 60F, but lambs have been dropping 1 a day for the past 3 days. I expect yet another one to day. So far 2 boys and 1 girl. One of the boys "knee" joints didn't fuse however. The leg look good, just unusable. Other than that, all are healthy.

Since Husband went to the ER on Friday, we did not pick up the meat. Today we are. We worked on the hide all day yesterday. It should make a beautiful blanket.

Hope hubby is feeling better. Good work on the hide.

What will you do with the boy whose legs are unusable - will he be slaughtered? I understand, but just curious.

Take care my friend.

More than likely he will runt out and have lots of issues. Being picked on, not being allowed to eat and so forth. We can separate the two out, but he still will end up being butchered earlier than normal.

Ok, this might be a silly thought, but can his legs be splinted? I assume it's his front legs that are funky. It would give him a funny gait but he could at least get around...

Parker, it is his hind leg. We splint it for a bit, and h seems to have started using it a bit.
