Thank goodness it was only a dream.

I dreamed that I was weeding the garden over and over again. It wouldn't stop! I woke screaming, had some coffee and realized I had to weed the garden.

Not saying goodbye

How do you say see you later? Goodbye sounds to final.

Horse neighbor is being shipped off to Afghanistan on Monday. Yes, on Memorial Day. He will be there for a year.

I will miss him dearly.

But what to say.

We are going over for a bbque tomorrow to say our goodbyes.

Maybe I should say "Heard it was 115F there yesterday. At least there isn't the Kansas humidity to go with it"

More than likely hand him a beer and thank him. Thank him for being our neighbor, for being a good friend for almost 10 years, thank him for sacrificing his everything to keep us safe and Free. And when he returns in 1 year time, with the greatest tan ever seen, I will thank him again, and buy him a cold beer.

When Last Meets First; Harvest Overlap

This time of year is when the Neophyte Homestead experiences a harvest overlap. When last year's pork meets this year's cabbage. When last year's potatoes meets this year's salad. Home grown and homemade, can't beat this time of year. It's the only time some of these veggies will mix.

I don't want to talk about it

We had a rather bad day yesterday. husband was in a bad mood for the boys had lost some of his tools. He is rather tired of spending so much time looking for his tools.

We left for the farm. At one point husband asked me a question, and answered back, being abrasive and loud. He asked why I was getting defensive. And I replied, I thought we were bickering. I was just doing my part. That got him to smile.

We spent the entire time on fencing. We are now out of fencing and out of money and still not complete. ~sigh~ Husband fell a few times, we forgot to bring the come-a-long, and yeah, I don't really want to talk about it.

However Husband almost stepped on Bambi.



And Small found a Faline as he went to retrieve some tools.



That made everyone's day. And smiles and giggles abound.
