The farmstead isn't working out. Not just the bull escaping, but other things and the reason why the bull keeps escaping. There is nothing left that we can do.
I will be finding a new home for Sam.

So sorry. We have cows and sometimes I just want to make them into hamburger! The bulls are especially ornery. Typical males, thinking with their reproductive organs! Perhaps later ya'll can get some more.

Sorry for all the roubles that dang bull has caused you all We've been teeter tottering with whether or not to get a bull for our girls, seeing what you and many others have to deal with I just don't know*sigh*
Sorry you've had to make this tough decision, are you sure?
We couldn't get our 7 yr old dexter cow bred, AI'ed her twice( spendy each time*sigh*) and boarded her with a dexter bull for two months( also cost us plenty), still no calf, so even though it was very tough, she'll be hamburger in the freezer in a month or so.... This is the part of living a frugal/ homestead life that stinks!!!

Wish were close enough to come get them, Phelan ...we'd buy them all, but probably make hamburger of Sam. Our neighbor has a bull. Somehow I think a bull on BOTH sides of the fence would just be double trouble!

I'm sorry I mistook Sam to be your bull you had trouble keeping at home, Phelan. I do not make hamburger or any such thing out of horses.
I do wish you were closer. We've discussed having a couple of Dexters for a long time now and things are finally coming around for us where it's a possibility.

We do have a short graphic ALPO speech we give to the horses when they misbehave. WE know we would never eat them, but THEY don't need to know that! LOL
