Cantaloupe Sherbert
1 cantaloupe, pealed and cut into chunks
sugar
3/4 cup milk
If you have a food processor, puree the cantaloupe, add sugar, blend, add milk blend, then freeze for 4 hours.
no food processor? Place chunks into a small pot, sprinkle with sugar, simmer until soft. Mash and push through a foodmill, whisk in milk, freeze at least 4 hours.
Place in the fridge to thaw slightly before serving.
The amount of sugar to use is up to you. I use the same amount I would use to sprinkle on cantaloupe before eating. If you never use sugar to eat cantaloupe, then use about 2 tablespoons of sugar.

Your sherbert recipe looks delightful.
I've never tried making a frozen snack like that because the directions always say to use an ice cream maker and I don't have one. Now I'm thinking that I don't really need one :)
Have you tried the sherbert recipe in other fruit flYour sherbert recipe looks delightful.

Have you tried the sherbert recipe in other fruit flavors?
I have done other frozen fruit treats before
OMG That looks and sounds SO GOOD. Thanks gurl, I'm betting I'll be making a whole bunch of this one.
Just in time for my cantaloupe to volunteer to be the Sherbert of the Month!
I'll have to try it with the Canary Melon next!
