I walked outside, just before twilight, to put the chickens up. There were thousands of dragonflies everywhere. I have never seen so many.
Wish I could have gotten a photo.

I'm glad one of us was up at a good time. I couldn't stop reading your blog after finding it yesterday and wound up finally passing out with my computer on my lap, in bed at around 2am - it's going to be a long day - glad I work in an office on days when I am so irresponsible with my sleep (and only those days)
Funny--I saw the same thing last night here in western NC. There were hundreds of them all along the road as I drove home at dusk. I've never seen so many here before
You Too!! I have seen hundreds and hundreds of them this year and their big enough to carry off small children! Wonder what is with that? I understand they are the best at eating mosquitos but truly here in central SD...it's high and dry this time of year! Sure we have mosquitos but doubt there are enough for that many dragonflys to live on...it is amazing!

Thank you, I am very flattered. Rest well in your office today, and sleep well tonight!
That would have been a sight to see! Shame you couldn't get any pictures!
You have a good day!
The dragonfly represents strength and independence. I have one tatooed on my back. They may have presented themselves to you for a reason...

It's been a year for dragonflies.
