This morning I had a phone call from the President of The Downed Bikers Association. He had seen that I was talking about the group and wanted to talk to me.
We talked a bit about the group. They do lot of Poker runs to help motorcyclists that have been injured by cars. The have had 5 already, and it is just the beginning of riding season! Just today a man at the bike shop was almost ran off the road by a teen on his cell phone. And all of us listening shook our heads. We have all been there.
The Downed Motorcycle Association would like to have a Chapter in the Wichita area. I told him I would see what I could put together.

As for the blogathon, I will be raffling off a sampler of jellies, and APN will be donating It's A Disaster to be raffled off.
I was also thinking about having a virtual Poker run. If you would be interested in hosting a card (meaning a bunch of new visitors coming by to find the card and code) let me know.

I could donate something, jams/ jellies, homemade soap, OP seeds, potholders our Dd makes, how about a beaded necklace? What will be entailed in holding a card? If it doesn't require daily supervision I'd be open to that as well.

It's awesome you're doing this. My ex is a huge motorcycle rights activist and in the past year two of his friends have been killed - very upsetting.
Just last week he sent me this:
"Don’t know if you remember Rose Tipton. She died in a motorcycle accident Saturday, in Macoupin county her bike hit a tractor, she hit the dual tires the bike exploded and she was dead on the scene."
Well, like I said, what you're doing is awesome. I will gladly host a card.

Queen, I am sorry to hear that. I have lost a few friends myself, and recently a friend of ours is no paralyzed. Let me know which site(s) you want for card hosting as I have to pass around urls.
