Yep, I am in a mood, and then we top that off with one of those rare Sunday posts. . . then you know something's up.
Back in February, when we went to get our Ladies, the owner gave Mama a shot. See he had no more Dexter Bulls, and was concerned that Mama might be pregnant with an Angus's baby. The shot was to abort any fetus that might be forming. The thing is, this is a good thing. Angus are quite larger than Dexters, and a Dexter birthing a half Angus calf could spell death for the mother and calf.
Yesterday morning, my husband walked outside to see. . . oh, you already know what is coming do you? . . . a calf attempting to stand, still covered in birth.
Everyone is doing fine. The calf has a small head, long legs, and a small body. Kind of awkward looking. No wonder Lott wanted nothing to do with her.
Break out a stogie, we have a baby boy!

Congrats on the new baby bull! Hope Momma comes through it healthy. Even if you don't know for sure if it is pure or a mix the milk and beef(in a few months) are still fantastic surprise.
Enjoy.
