My turkey is sitting in a large ice chest, brining in apple cider. How's your turkey?
I love these next two days. Today I have 8 pies to make, Pumpkin pie, maple pecan pie, chocolate silk, and apple pies, rolls, breads, treats and desserts. Tomorrow the turkey and all, and I do mean all, the trimmings. I have been itching to get to work this past week. Knowing that I couldn't until today.
I'll admit it, I am a baking dork, an addict. I will be running around like a chicken, excuse me, turkey with its head chopped off. Freaking out and stressing. All with a smile and a cuss word. 4 types of deviled eggs, 2 different sweet potato casseroles, pumpkin breads, 2 types of mashed potatoes, 2 different rolls, breads that line the bar, vegetables raw and cooked in various manners, 2 different stuffings, bread stuffing #1, bread stuffing #2, jellied cranberry sauce and a cranberry chutney! We also have a friend coming out, he doesn't have family here, and I asked for his request of what was traditional in his family, 3 new recipes for me to learn. Oh I am a gluten! Don't care either. With everything we are struggling with, we have one day to have a harvest feast, a day to remind ourselves of the plethora of things we are thankful for. We get one day to not worry about losing everything.
I don't know if I will be posting tomorrow, but as I get up at 4 am to get that bird in the oven, I just might stop by.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Sweets! I'm with you, I love going overboard on Thanksgiving and I think that's what its for - I enjoy the leftovers too ;)
I'm tired just reading that list. My gosh... are you feeding an army?
And you're a GLUTTON. Somebody (I'm not point at YOU, mind you) must have BREAD on her mind, writing GLUTEN. ;) Perhaps you've been working too hard my dear!
Peace to you and Happy Thanksgiving.
meadowlark, hehe I have been baking for what seems like weeks, stupid spell check. ;) There will be a grand total of 7 people for Thanksgiving, but people do show up unexpectedly some yers. Plus we have some wonderful leftovers for a week.
FOUR types of devilled eggs! lol. Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
We were blessed to be invited to Thankgiving at a friend's house, I am glad your friend has a place to go. I would love to see pics of your table when you are done cooking and baking. :) Happy Thanksgiving.
Whoa!!! and I thought my family went all out. Good luck and have a peaceful day.
Happy Thanksgiving. Next year is my turn to make the super feast. Did it a few years ago... promised my Mom a New England feast, My husband a Southern feast, and my Scottish guests a taste of the southwest... There was hardly room at the table for the dinner plates! Hoping next year it mostly comes out of my sweetie's new garden!
