I'm melting! Melting!

We are under a heat advisory.

I watch the weather reports. Call me a weather junky, I don't care. I have to have my weather fix everyday. They can get it wrong at times, but they give you the gist of what is to come. Not only is it important to watch the weather reports, you also need to learn to read the weather for yourself. Surprises can be nasty.

But the best thing about watching my local news, is that they tell you the days coldest year ever, and hottest. For example "Today's high was 105F. In 1962 it was 53F. And in 1944 it was 110F"

I am odd, never said I wasn't. But I get a kick out of knowing what the weather was like so many years ago, and see that it cycles in the way it does.

It snowed here in Kansas, in July, back in the late 1980's. It didn't stick, but the flakes were huge.

105? That sounds like a killer...about as appealing as 40 below. Hang in, Phelan. You know, I was once paid to watch clouds...at remote locations in AK...and I can back the notation for thew need for being able to read things yourself. People party pretty hard at those remote locations...and the city folk use the reports sent in as their basis for prediction. Heh heh. Freakin' maroons...

Happy Friday!

I remember that snow. It was odd. Got your message on the apple picking. It will have to be around October. When do you normally go?

It's been hot here too. Though not quite like there. It finally rained last night (after I watered the whole garden!) Today the temps are much more reasonable (forecast high 91) but it is still sticky! Hope you are staying cool in all that heat!
