~snicker~ It is local. {wonder how many PETA people will come hunt me down for this one}
The only reason I bring this up is because I have a cook book, made by my grandmother's church in Washington State.
There is one recipe in it that cracks me up.
The main ingredient is a medium sized brown dog.
~shrug~ Like I said, it is locally available and you can grow your own. I am.
This is Buttercup, she is an American Pit Bull. There are many misconceptions about Bully breeds.

She looks like a sweetie--I'll bet the boys love her
with BBQ sauce
[don't you PETA people hunt me down either]
Ack! The cookbook came from my state! LOL. Did you know I have a dog now? I haven't owned one for 17-18 years. She is a Border Collie and man those dogs are smart. Her owners died and we adopted her.
hmm..... I wonder why it has to be a brown dog? What if all you have is white, black or yellow? :)
yep, BBQ sauce, brown dog and a slow cooker...nummy!
Polli, wonderful. I hope you have many great years together.
Farm mom, they are slightly more tender then the other color dogs. You might have to adjust the seasoning as well. ;)
Oooh! What a savoury-looking puppers!
Some bay, a few veggies . . ..
