Things are just not well here. All my chicks, ducklings and goslings are gone. I am angry and ready to quit. I want to move farther out from people. Why on Earth would you move out into the country just to steal from your neighbor's? That was not how I was raised. And I was raised in town.
Yes, we know that it is a two legged predator that has stolen our birds.
Now there is need to dress out a rooster before they kill each other. 3 roosters and 4 hens are left. The roosters will fight and end up killing each other and possibly a hen.
I am so sad. I feel distrustful.
I will be in the barn with a shotgun if you need me.
not to kill, but to scare.

Sorry about your missing birds. Is it a very small town? Seems like someone would notice the appearance of new birds at a neighbor's home. I hope you find them soon.
We do not live in town. Someone is hoofing it through our back field to get to them. We do not have any hope of finding them.
They live close enough to know you had the birds. You can pick up a device that detects when someone moves through a door to let you know when they are there. Stores use them for when customers come in. That and a camera will do more than a shotgun. Put the bastard in jail. Did you call the sheriff?
Amen to the shotgun, I'd be pissed.
That's awful! I would be livid! I can't believe someone is stealing your chickens.
What's wrong with people?
Oh Phelan, I'd be SO MAD! if someone stole my "girls"! I'm so sorry!
We've never had problems with the neighbors stealing critters, but I have to keep everything in secure pens because neighbors let their dogs roam everywhere. Like you, I wish I lived so far out in the boonies that I couldn't even SEE the nearest house.
Bob's got the idea. I'd be pissed at too. Maybe a big nasty-looking and sounding dog for added insurance?
Hope you catch the jerk.
Oh, that really stinks! I can't believe they are getting away with that! I think you need to set some really nasty traps..like a large pail of pig blood over the door to fall on their head and dig a hole for them to fall in and then tar and feather them!
I feel the same about neighbors. We have had four-wheel traffic DIRECTLY behind our property the past two months on the weekends (on private factory owned property) and it makes me nervous. And our mastiff was shot recently and will probably be permanantly disabled (thankfully not dead).
Perhaps when you start again you could camoflage one of those "wildlife" cameras (I think they are $50-60) to catch your chicken thief.
So sorry about your poultry-why do people does these things?

People can really SUCK! I hope that between fencing and game-cam, you can catch and stop these jerks!
Load it with #4s
I can never understand theft. How can people like that sleep at night?
