I trust everyone had a good weekend. Things went well here. Spent the whole day on Saturday with my mother, Sunday with my mother-in-law and Monday here. I did get useable items, it has taken my family {in-laws included}3 years to figure out that I want old fashioned, hard working, non plastic items. Got a new cast iron skillet, wooden spoons and metal utensils. My husband surprised me with some great items.
My husband and I spent the better part of the weekend discussing the shape of our house. I think we finally have it figured out. the next step is to talk to them about the blueprints.
Seed catalogs have begun arriving. WOOHOO! Jung's is offering heritage seeds from seedsavers.org. Good for them

I haven't received my Jung's yet---but I got my Baker Creek Heirlooms. Wow! It's hard to choose.
And it also took us a number of years to break most of our family in to NO Plastic. My mother still forgets periodically---she's the queen of a "bargain". What bargain is plastic though---enviromentally and the fact that it never lasts.
I sympathise with you. This year, for the first time, I got no useless gifts. The in-laws actually came up with a cast-iron griddle (wow!!) and two boxes of canning jars! Yeah!!
