The Past
This poor thing was found beaten. I thought she was dead. I was surprised to see her chest rise with a breath. I brought her inside and we nursed her back to health. My father called her no fear, because she wasn't scared of anything.
The Present
Yesterday the neighbors dogs came into our land and tore her apart. The neighbor doesn't care.

Oh no!
*hugs*
I'm sorry to hear about Lumpy...and about your neighbor, too.
I hope your neighbor's dogs don't start routinely coming after animals on your place.
I don't suppose you could shoot them? (The dogs, not the neighbors, although they deserve it, too.)
I'm so sorry!
NO, can't shoot them, not even to scare them off, of use a low power bb gun. We have a new law here in the state of Kansas. It was passed with good intentions. But now if you even look at a pet cross eyed, some one can scream abuse and you are looking at a long prison term.
Ugh, I hope that dog doesn't get blood-lust and go after your other animals :( Poor little kitty :(
Sometimes country neighbours suck, and sometimes they rock - this one SUCKS. There's no excuse; he should be able to control his animals. Do his dogs roam often? Maybe there's some recourse through the county/municipality if his dogs have been complained about before...
I'm so sorry, Phelan. The poor thing - did you have her for long? Have you had other run-ins with this jerk?
bug, neither do I.
Merry, yes his dogs roam, actually many dogs roam the area. Since we have allowed our dogs free range, our problems with coyotes and foxes have decreased dramatically. All the dogs in the area are friendly with on another, going to each other's homes to play. I can file a complaint, and all that would happen is that everyone would end up with a roaming dog fine. The county could care less about us here. When we moved in we had a cat problem, when animal control came out to remove them, the officer suggested that I set out anti-freeze so he wouldn't have to come back out. I was shocked! My dogs will not keep his dogs off the property, because they are friendly. Recently I have started keeping my dogs on my land, for various reasons.
Andrew, I know how you feel. My oldest son tried to stop it.
Cheryl, she was 6 months old, and so very tiny. I have not had any run-ins with his dogs before.
*beats the tar out of the neighbor*
Oh I'm so sorry! That's terrible! I can't even imagine how you feel to lose her this way.
Oh mate, what a horror. I am so sorry, she looks like such a cheeky little darling, too.
:(
What kind of piece of trash beats a kitten? Nice neighbours in your area, NOT.
What a sad story. First she was beaten, and then she was torn to pieces. I am happy that she had a little bit of respite in between.
