But during your canning session, the water boils and will cover everything during the process. You kill the bacteria and seal it against new ones.Phelanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08250080326099834661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-26498814593351749652009-06-10T16:40:07.141-05:002009-06-10T16:40:07.141-05:00I have a question re: canning

I didn't cut the green beans all the same length so when I put them in the wide mouth pint jars...some were above the line created by the vinegar/water solution. Is it safe to eat? Or do they all have to be submerged. Thanks!
SusanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-72860180281951527362009-06-10T15:36:38.575-05:002009-06-10T15:36:38.575-05:00I would like to know how to keep the goats out of ...I would like to know how to keep the goats out of my home. ;) heehee. It's still cool enough, most days, for a jacket outside, and it's still dipping into the 40s and 50s at night.

Knowing what our weather is like, though, I've started transitioning to growing mostly cold hardy plants - lots of coles, lettuce, and peas (all of which are thriving right now ;) - and lots of perennials like herbs, various berries and nut and fruit trees. Hopefully that stuff will be able to handle cooler temps :).Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04642417312794814066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-18190845938658367772009-06-10T09:51:07.162-05:002009-06-10T09:51:07.162-05:00I enjoy the useless musings much of the time :) Yo...I enjoy the useless musings much of the time :) You seem to have a good mix of this and "heavy duty knowledge".

And you know I'm always looking for canning stuff. :)Meadowlarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17208672418814503032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-15583395891932585492009-06-10T09:41:54.707-05:002009-06-10T09:41:54.707-05:00I have been wondering about summer myself....this ...I have been wondering about summer myself....this has been such a cool summer...we're still getting killing frosts!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-64654014441155331192009-06-10T09:20:57.184-05:002009-06-10T09:20:57.184-05:00So much I want to learn yet am unwilling to give u...So much I want to learn yet am unwilling to give up my day job to do it!
