I still find my eyes hurt from staring so intently, but that's another problem for another day.

Thanks for a smile today.Meadowlarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17208672418814503032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-60377995431134611432006-10-05T16:42:00.000-05:002006-10-05T16:42:00.000-05:00Teri,

But I didn't know that at the time. :)

I tried some acrylic yarns, but they don't hold a candle to the natural fiber yarns I've been using.

I live in Texas, so the cotton is better once you've gotten the hang of things. Some of the wool yarns are just too hot 10 or 11 months out of the year.

JennyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-9276028242731399542006-10-03T13:17:00.000-05:002006-10-03T13:17:00.000-05:00Cotton is a bad choice for beginner yarn. If you can't abide wool, there are some decent acrylics out there and there's also alpaca. Personally, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to use wool.Terihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13382050215676302342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-18518009059054286342006-10-02T11:58:00.000-05:002006-10-02T11:58:00.000-05:00Thanks! I've been at it for a couple of hours now and am tempted to toss the whole thing and buy a new skein! :D

Jenny OAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-80466501961167052372006-10-02T09:29:00.000-05:002006-10-02T09:29:00.000-05:00Wonderful....I'm afraid I'd end up tangled in yarn...Wonderful....I'm afraid I'd end up tangled in yarn though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-80450162591052124392006-10-01T14:20:00.000-05:002006-10-01T14:20:00.000-05:00Wait until you try spinning! Much easier even than knitting, and you get at least twice the value for your crafting dollar in enjoyment--once when you spin it, and once when you knit it. I sometimes get more than that; if I buy a raw fleece, I get the pleasure of sorting it, dyeing it, carding it, spinning it, and then knitting it. That's five times the benefit. "Sure, but you're not counting your time." Dude, I'm not counting my time because IT'S A HOBBY. It's what I do for fun. Do you count your time when you, say, play video games, or knock a ball around a golf course? Of course not. And in the end, I have something functional, and you've got a high score--good in video games, not so much with the golf. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-52039832658284318392006-10-01T10:10:00.000-05:002006-10-01T10:10:00.000-05:00Yay JennyO!Yay JennyO!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28663723.post-42093844659603056232006-10-01T09:45:00.000-05:002006-10-01T09:45:00.000-05:00Great article JennyO!
