Cooling

It's finally cooling off. Thank goodness. I was so done with the heat today. But they say it isn't going to let up.

It is reeking havoc on my garden, just like last year. I think we will end up butchering most the cattle rather than selling them, as hay prices will go up again, and people will not be buying.

And that's the way the homestead turns.

I'm sorry. I was hoping this would be a better year.

Hubby and I are looking to relocate to a more moderate climate and become a bit more self sufficient. Cows (just a few) were one of the things we're still debating whether we want to get involved in. I think we should wait until we find out BOL to make that call. Too many areas are like yours - too wet one year then too dry the next. I don't want to start something that's a bad idea from the start. Sorry this year isn't going any better for you.

Same here fancy.

Maxine, for several years it was fine, but last year was bad, and this year isn't getting any better. I love having the cows, but just have too many right now.
